Pozo Hondo Studios
‘Duende’, was a word given to us as we embarked on this ambitious project. Described as both having mysterious power and beauty and containing an unexplainable sadness or darkness.
This space was intended by our client to be used for writing and recording music, as well as performance and contemplation. As musicians ourselves, it felt more than coincidental that we were chosen to paint and decorate its walls.
The building itself is a three story, 19th century barn which was disassembled in New York and reassembled in Texas.
We carefully chose themes such as Mexican textile motifs, the Thunderbird, and various pictograms to enhance the ideas the client discussed with us as we designed our contribution.
Each vignette was hand rendered and gilded.
